This sunflower has multiple, velvety, burgandy, chestnut and bronze, 5" blooms on sturdy, heavily branching stems up to 5' tall. This is a cultivar of the true North American native that is such a familiar sight. Great for cut flower arrangements and borders and one of the earliest to bloom. Thin seedlings to 18 - 24" apart. Will do better if planted with composted manure and slow release fertilizer.
